Iirc some of the t5 locking threads talk about having one person repeatedly operate the unlock button while another person thumps the outside of the door with their open hand near the lock actuator to jolt it at just the right time and once you get the door open don t close it so it can t deadlock again.

A very common fault on the vw t4 door locking mechanism is dropping the door pull. Insert door handle 2 from outside into mounting bracket. My actuator seemed to be making a little effort when called to do so via fob. Swing door handle 1 out of door.

Then check function with sliding door open. If this happens the problem is with the remote. Pull lock cylinder 2 at right angles out of mounting bracket of door handle. The door lock works in only one direction.
